Boatone\'s Xmas Challenge

As you all know I am very fond of piccy thingies and I think this here forum has been a much more cheerful place since we started waving flags and things around.
So here's a challenge for the festive season.....everyone find a suitably festive little pic to go against their posts...preferably boaty, jiggle-abouty if you like but definitely xmassy.
Dont put it up yet, we'll have a synchronised switching on of the MoBoChat Forum decorations on 14th December at a time to be announced..........and if the other forums want to join in we'll be happy to see 'em cos its the season of goodwill......

Re: Boatone\'s Xmas Challenge

How do I get to see those little pics against the posts? When I log in from my laptop I get them, but when I log in from the office PC I don't and I can't figure out where the settings are different (

Could it be different version of Explorer that I'm viewing through?

Re: Boatone\'s Xmas Challenge

A main problem with pictures on the net is that some people have liked pictures from their hard drive! So, on the computer your using you WILL see the picture and everything will be fine, but on other computers, the link will be to their HDD and wont find the picture on there.

Well im probably wrong but anyway...

To have a picture next to your posts on the forum you must do the following: -

1) Have the picture on webspace (I might actually let people send me their pictures and ill put it on mine for them and send them the link)

2) Know the URL u(niform) r(esource) l(ocator).
e.g. http://www.webbsite.com/folder/picture.jpg

3) Go to "user options" in the forum menu and click "edit" in the top bar, which says "Personal information, email, password, etc."

4) Almost at the very bottom there is a text box labelled "Your Picture (Entire URL - Picture size is 65x75 pixels)". Simply put the URL in that box and away you go!

If you still don’t see any pictures at all:

Under the "Personal information, email, password, etc." there is a "Display preferences, number of shown threads, languages, and colours... " Click edit on the end of the bar. At the very bottom of the page you are now on there should be 2 sets of 2 radio buttons.

View other user's pictures in their profile?
No Yes

View user's pictures with their posts?
No Yes

Make sure the "YES" button is selected on both.

Well, that’s a few simple reasons for the problem. Ill be grateful to give any more help.
