why is it when you have your 2 weeks planned to go away on the boat accross channel the weather is too unsettled? I think that I would prefer to get stuck in the solent rather than over there!

We had quite the reverse experience this year (just for once) we planned to run from the Orwell to Belgium on the Saturday, all was perfect and we left and arrived according to timing. The day we planned to go from Oostende to Neiwpoort was a bit snotty so we went via the canal which was an amusing diversion and we were glad we did it, the run from there to Blankenberg was done on schedule as was the run back to the Orwell. We had a great time and we never saw a wave over 1.5m except from the beach so I guess that’s our quota for another few years.

.......beginning of the week the forecast for the weekend on XC weather for the solent was zero cloud cover, so full sun and highs of 21, winds on up to 7mph......By Wednesday that had changed to up to 72% cloud cover both days and rain on Saturday, winds of 14mph............. Now is 98% cloud cover, wind up to 16mph, still wet on Saturday....

GRRRRRR

Good News - Weather here in the Clyde is looking great for this weekend.

Bad News - Boat was lifted out the other day for a repair.

Nae Luck...

Forthcoming storm? I know a Northerly is a bit incomfortable and a bugger if t's blowing you off a berth, but Windmap and Windguru indicate a maximum of about 15-16 knots , about 19 knots gusts for the next few days. If the marina is blown away, please post on here then I won't bother coming down on Sunday.

I know but marina bloke suggested we move cos NE wind. I dont bother telling H Head where I'm going to park, because they always give you a **** spot anyway Outside the break water usually, which is a bit daft, cos there are nearly no boats here anyway. Well Mf has now got her bows pointed into anything it can throw at us. We'll shift the marina around if need be.
