I have only visited Newport and used the Newport Yacht Club, the Ida Lewis Yacht Club and the Goat Island Marina. It might be worth looking at the Newport Yacht Club as they have their own marina which includes pump out facilities and 24 hour security. They also have a number of moorings in the middle of the harbour. I have no idea if there is a waiting list however. The Ida Lewis Yacht Club has a number of moorings and is very friendly and welcoming. Goat Island Marina has good fuel facilities and they allowed me to lay alongside for a number of hours while I waited for customs clearance at no charge. They also handled the papers for me on leaving the US the first time I visited by boat. Very friendly and accomodating but am not sure of their prices.

I believe that both Conneticut and Rhode Island are on the East Coast.
