Sort of a two way thread this;

1) for anyone who uses the Slipway at Truss's Island (about half a mile upstream from PH lock), be aware that the exit gate is 3 inches LOWER than the entrance gate, so just because you got in ok, don't go bowling noncachalantly out or ...

2) you may end up needing a new windscreen for your boat as I do )c:

Anyone know of any suppliers around PH who can fabricate and fit a new perspex windscreen for me?

Oh bad luck. I swept a couple of kayaks off the roof of the Discovery in a similar fashion in Sainsbury's Chertsey. Only one person sword removedword removedword removedword removedword removedword removeded but the rest helped me sweep the debris up!

For your windscreen, I've just spoken to a company I have used in Staines in the past for plastic fabrications, L J Construction, Norman Minett, 01784 421 112. He can do flat screens but sends curved work elsewhere with ovens. Would help to have the old remains for a template.

Good luck

Mike

Wow

I know people go on about "the power of the forum", but wow, thanks!

The guy you spoke to was out but will be calling me back.

Fingers crossed.

Out of curiosity then, is the exit gate at Sainsbury's lower than the entrance? I crept in to the car-park at Truss's Island, but on exiting just waited for a gap in the traffic and shot out with the resulting smash.
