I agree in principle on the displacement/ torque comment however, these are samurai engines. Unknown origin, painted blue and with aftermarket marinisation. The exhaust manifold for example is a custom made affair.

If you are happy with the performance of the 4 pot Volvo’s, it’s a no brainier with 4K being the difference.

They are not OEM Princess fit. GM v8 diesel 6.2 was in hummers’ and Chevy trucks.

If they were not originally fitted by Princess that changes things hugely. I'd be very circumspect then

In that case I'd go with the Volvo engined option. They were bog standard OEM fit and the outdrives are are a properly matched package, plus with some negotiation you may narrow the gap.

Think of ease of re-sale in the future, there will always be a question mark over the Samurai engines.
