Boat transportation

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know or can recommend someone who can transport a 24 foot boat (Triple Keel) from Somerset to Suffolk at reasonable cost?

I can always tow myself if hiring a trailer is the most cost effective option, I just need some advice from those in the know please!

I've had some quotes that rival the cost of the boat!

Depending on weight of boat/trailer and assuming you have capable vehicle, for the cost of say 2 day hire of trailer and towing yourself, you'll be quids in all day long. (Check your insurance

Minimum charge would be around £300/400 I would suspect.

You could try Boat Mover. They did an excellent job of moving my little (17') boat from Canvey Island to Southsea.

When I had a 23' triple keel moved from Norfolk to Faversham it cost me £400 plus £60 at each end for cranage. I couldn't have done it cheaper myself as I would have had to hire a suitable tow vehicle and trailer.

I'm not normally a suspicious person, but when a new user appears whose only posts are to recommend and link to a particular company, of at best tangential relevance, it does look a little odd n'est pas?
