Boat Transport

You can tow them, I tow mine, but it will have to be completely dry and unladen. The trailer must not exceed 900 kg . You will need to check the width overall. Not legal in this country without informing the fuzz. Ask just to make sure. Decent trailer and 50 mph is easy. I towed mine in Ireland by the way.

Hi Still Afloat,
That is one heck of a journey you did there! Can you recommend any decent road transport firms? I have a few quotes from some but just in case I have missed any.

She will be coming back to the UK "forever" as I will get more use out of it here than over in Spain. I don't see the point having a boat there and only using it twice a year for a week or so.

Thanks again!

Sorry, Ive somehow overlooked this . I only moved my boat, in the UK.
So I have no idea, who to suggest. Beverly Transport Service, are nice helpful people, and if they do not do foreign stuff, im sure they will be able to point you in the right direction. WWW.Boatsbyroad.com

Good Luck

I met this guy in Cowes at the Panerai British Classic Week earlier in the summer.
He seemed very popular and well-known with the boat owners from various parts of Europe.
This is the only info I have for contact: Reher-Yachttransporte.de
hope that helpful.

I'd look into having a professional ship it, even if the trip sounds fun. As someone else said you'd still have to find your way back and that wouldn't be cheap either when you factor everything in. Just look for a couple experienced boat transporters and compare their prices. The wider you cast the net, the more options you'll have and the better odds of finding a cheaper rate. I've personally used A1Auto Transport myself - they ship boats and operate internationally - and found them to be professional and on the affordable side.

Hi all, once again all of your replies are really appreciated!

The whole COVID-19 situation has really put a spanner in the works for me (and everyone else as a matter of fact!) so I think this "project" will be pushed closer to the summer months.

I would be grateful if you could name some transport companies so I can start to weigh up the costs. I have found a few online but there might be some smaller ones that I have missed!
