The trident is almost ready to move to the marina, a trip of a mere 8 miles or so, but our trailer has another yacht on it.
This presents us with a logistical challenge and a couple of options.
We could take the other yacht off the trailer, and use that, but it is problematic with space, overhead mains cables etc, and would probably entail a lot of shuffling around, and modifying the support legs of the trailer.
As we are engineers, none of that will cost actual money - but as time not working is time not earning, it still represents an expense. I estimate at least a day of non production at work.
I have been quoted £400 cash to move it from a specialist haulier, but they do not have a crane on the truck. This isn't a deal breaker, but it does make me reliant on another company next door being available with the telehandler at the same time as these guys might turn up.
I was wondering if any of you fine fellows happens to know someone in the solent area with a trailer capable of moving the yacht who might want to earn some beer tokens. We can arrange lift on, and marina will do it at the other side. It is just the hull, mast is coming later.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
