Hi All,

I have a major problem with taking delivery of a possible new purchase (Fairline Corniche 31).....

I can get transport from the its current location on the south coast to Wales with no problem, however the date they would like it gone is the 16th of this month, at my marina with no crane and just a sling bogey contraption to lift off the lorry and launch in the marina we need a tide of at least 7.5m.... that day we have only 5.9m !!!!!!

I need a transport company with a low loader (due to height of boat) that can self lift into the marina from the side of the slip?????

Crane hire is an option but very expensive for a one off lift!

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks as usual
Rob

Go to another local marina that can cope and then motor to your own berth?
How about Portishead?
Cheers
Jim

My Portofino 34 is also to be lifted back onto the same transporter to go back darn sarf!

Swansea is nearer so that is an option but I'm just exploring every avenue at present.....

Any further suggestions welcome?

Cheers all
Rob (sat at home in a very wet Wales)

Never used this firm but looks good.

The can self load although not into water. A HIAB flatbed wouldnt manage because of the height problems. Could you leave it under the crane thing ready for the tide or will others shout at you.!!!

Boat loads are really good and have a brilliant trailer/ mini arctic setup. Spot on for your porto. I have used them and they were ace plus cheap! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Slip is steep running to very shallow slope, hence on a 5.9m yes I could plonk it on the slip but would'nt get enough water for a number of days to float her off........

Also would not get the portofino out!!

Keep em coming.......................................?

Re: Boat trans with low loader & hiab south coast?

Do they have a tractor and large boat yard trailer?

Pull the Sunseeker out on the yard trailer up the slip enough for the lorry and repeat to get the Fairline back in.

Problem Solved?

Re: Boat trans with low loader & hiab south coast?

Hi Jim
As I pointed out earlier the tides are going to be too low hence only the lowest very shallow slope part of the slip is getting water at high tide hence the tractor and sling bogey that the yard uses is inoperative!

Cheers Mark,
Very generous offer indeed............
But seeing as the SS is being back loaded on the same wagon it makes sense to get it via road!
Hope to be down in Portsmouth later this wk if your about ?
