boat survey pictures

thought I would share some pictures taken at todays survey at Penton Hook. Initial feedback from the surveyor was good, with only a few minor points that will need looking at / replacing at the end of this season. Just awaiting his official report and then hopefully we can proceed.
Found the surveyor very helpful, and as we are both complete novices, he took the time to talk us through everything he did, and the reasons for doing it.

Good luck with it. To be honest, we proceeded on ours after verbal confirm from the surveyor. If he doesn't tell you there is a big problem, it would be pretty surprising if there was one.

have actually just seen the connection in the surname!
He actually took us out for the river trial - of course he made everything look so easy, turning in tight corners, mooring etc - then he handed the controls to us two novices !!!

Dont worry he is my brother! I just spoke to him and he said that one of his boats had been on the forums so I guessed it must be this one.

He makes it look easy because it is easy! Trust me after a few weeks you will get the hang of it and will look like a pro.

A fine looking vessel and I'm sure you'll have much fun on her in the coming months (years?)

Always worth being there during the survey if you can, as you found out, its a good time to ask questions and get the surveyor to explain the points you will later read about in his report - often less worrying when you have seen the faults / points he mentions in person.

First time I've seen a boat chocked up during a survey though, health and safety bods been down to Penton Hook recently?
