If you want 6' headroom a caravan might be suitable,I believe some of them can float :)

Hard task ahead

Six foot head room @ 7.5m is not going to be easy to find. If you manage it there will probably be only one place you can stand up straight.

I needed 6'2" and it took 2 years to find a Westerly under 10m that had the required head room. Two weeks in the Ionian on a Moody 31s convinced me I needed to be able to stretch whist still below.

You may have to up the length to 9.5m to find what you want (Still sub 10m for marina purposes) with dedicated "Heads". The smaller boats often have chemical toilets with the associated problems.

Have fun looking
and good luck

Dave.

Boat suggestions

The Virgo Voyager could fit your requirements. Have sailed the Voyager and has a reasonable turn of speed, is roomy and the bilge keels do the job;surprisingly closewinded for a B/K. I think they may be a triple keel also. Can't remember using the loo aboard but a civilised interior and good headroom. Prices around £8K-9Kfor good examples.
Good safe boat IMHO.
Alternative would be a Westerly Pageant long established 23ft bilge keeler and good resale value, max about £10k with recent engine. Also a safe boat and plenty of advice for them on the Westerly Owners Association website.

As mentioned above quite a few have standing headroom BUT only under the companionway hatch area. I find it slightly awkward that the headroom reduces to, I suppose about 5' 6" in my galley area and IIRC when looking at boats this applied to Westerlys, Seamasters etc. Possibly the Sabre was slightly better particularly as the one I looked at had, unusually, a wood boarded roof instead of headlining. In summary you may find boats with the galley aft if headroom is your priority. (I can put with quite a lot as my old boat only had about 5' headroom under the hatch and minimal elsewhere)

Thanks for replies, now one or two new possibilities I had not thought of.Asregards buying in Spain. If I can find the right boat it would be great as it would have already the Spanish flag etc ,saving at least 2000 euros,BUT small boats are expensive as government and industry have brought in regs to make it difficult and costly so protecting home market.Even humble pwb(poor white boats) fetch silly prices.long live the european free market,I say!!!!

Spanish flagged?

Now I may be wrong here (don't think so though).

If it is a Spanished flagged vessel do you not need then a Spanish certificate of competence which requires an exam, in Spanish?

Dave.

I'm struggling with one of your requirements. Most of us sit on the toilet, but you say you want to sit in it, and an outboard installation at that.

I've seen installations of that sort, but mainly on 18/19th Century ships........

Do you give lessons Mogy

Hmn seems you have missed the "Technicality" post. We are required to kneel now, especially entering P'mouth. Tinned prunes are now mandatory. Make sure they are in date if crossing to France.

Dave.

I have a Hunter 245 which exactly fits your requirements. Mine has an inboard engine but outboard was available when new.

Just to second the vote for a Newbridge Virgo Voyager...heads, inboard diesel, bilge keel, and 6' headroom. They class them a a five berth.....but to be honest they are a comfortable two and a cosy three.
