Boat sold, now the hunt starts!

I pleased to say I've sold my current boat ( searay 220da ) and the new owner has collected her

For reference I began advertising her on 27th Dec, so it's taken approx 6 weeks to sell. I advertised her with eBay, boats & outboards & a broker. I received the largest number of enquiries from eBay believe it or not and that is where I sold her, yes there were loads of silly offers made without even viewing the boat etc which is annoying but I'm thick skinned!. Surprisingly I only received 1 enquiry from the boats & outboards advert, which turned out to be a potential scam

So as annoying as eBay can be, it did the trick. Maybe the results might be different for larger craft but obviously I've no idea

The hunt can now start in earnest for her replacement. I'm looking for another sportscruiser, this time in the 27-30ft range and with diesel power, budget approx 30k. I've already got a couple of candidates to view but should anyone know of any craft that fit the above criteria please let me know

I had a Sunline 31 for a few years. Great boat, and might just be in your range now.

Searay 315 is a good boat and should be in budget with a single diesel

Sealine 28 Bolero or early S28 with ad31s should be close to budget. If not Sealine 290, fairline targa 33 or 27.

Boats.co.uk have a couple of DORAL 250s - one with a single KAD44 from 2001 and a 2004 with a KAD300

On the lower end of what you are looking for size wise but a good price for a post 2000 boats with a nice powerful diesel engine. Boats.co.uk stock so you get a warranty too

Thanks for the links & suggestions guys.
I'd gladly have another searay but models over the 220/240 seem thin on the ground. There is a doral 250 & a 270 quite local so I may have a look over them, not that it makes much difference but have doral gone bankrupt ?

I'm not worried about buying something that needs upholstery etc (my mother's a retired upholsterer) or general TLC, so long as the engine and main structure are sound.

I've got nick vass booked in to look over one boat next week

I agree it's helpful to point people in the direction of a boat that may be of interest but think it's a bit out of order that some can do it and others can't and that the link above should have been left.

Like the chap with the Project Weymouth for sale put on 2 of the forums,jfm selling wheels or people putting their business or boats for sale in their signatures?
That is not a dig at anyone but an observation,I enjoy looking at it all.Bit heavy handed imo.

I think the line should be a business or business owner promoting their own/related business ie commercial advertising. Links (or small narrative/pic) to private sales items or an individual advising members where to get something is part of what this forum is about IMHO (but don't abuse it). {sorry for thread hijack}

I had a look at a doral 250se over the weekend. Lovely fit out/quality definitely on par with searay.

Unfortunately the forward berth is too small for me (6ft2) and the headroom isn't as generous as the bavaria I'm considering. If only doral had reduced the size of the bathing platform & utilised the extra space in the cabin!
