We just watched our lovely Sun Legende leave with her new French owners, next stop Le Havre. We stood on the pontoon with the tears streaming as she left. I know it is the start of something new but what a really sad day it is when you sell up. In our case we are selling up to go liveaboard in the USA next year so lots to look forward to but it will be on a trawler yacht with no flappy bits, so another big change.:(:( Not the same at all flogging a car or a house, boats are very special.

An alternative view to the old saw " The two happiest days in boat ownership are the day you buy her and the day you sell her". You obviously had some great times in her.

Think on and get a small flappy type thing and hang it from the crane on your trawler. Should help withdrawal.

Robin,

I remember happy times on your boat. So sorry to hear that she's gone. Look forward to the next and say hello to T from us.

Thanks John, we remember them well. Seasons greetings to all of yours too.

If that grey thing you sail on ever gets into Norfolk Va there will be a very warm welcome from a rather smaller mobo waiting!

We had lots of rather sad farewells on this years cruise, the 'last times' like in Glenans, round the Raz etc. It all suddenly started to be a reality rather than just a future plan. But then again we now have a huge new cruising ground to check out so lots of new adventures to come.

Not that everything is or should be about money but hope you got a good price for her as well. Good luck with your new ventures...

Thanks. She sold for a good price and very quickly despite being somewhat modified below decks with fewer berths and more stowage, set up for short handed cruising. The first to view bought her within 2 days and there were other potential buyers (also French) waiting in the wings if the deal fell through. Good service too from Sea Ventures in Hamble who were the brokers even though we never even took the boat to their base and sold her from her berth here in Poole.
