I'm looking for a sailing boat similar to R36. I like this one but it is very expensive so, now I am considering others boats.

I really appreciate if you can recommend me any boat with next characteristics:

- up to 36 ft length.
- still in production (or no older than 15 years)
- long keel or long fin with skeg
- tiller

Thanks.

PS: I am not interested in yachts which do not fulfill all these conditions.

Age might be out, but discussion on these forums, have smilarly featured Tradewind 35 & Biscay 36.

Do you have a minimum size requirement?

Tillar steering gets pretty rare on boats of 36

The mystery 35 is worth a look

Absolutely agree with the Mystery 35 comment.
Not sure when the last one was built but I remember comparing the Rustler with a Rival 36 and I thought the Rival was nicer.

Nothing built today (except possibly Tradewind 35 which was still being built recently in Holland) meets those criteria, and as the Rustler only sells 1 or 2 a year, guess there never will be. Mystery 35 is not long keel or skeg - indeed part of its appeal is that it does not have those things. Using the 15 year old limit leaves only Vancouver 34, but may not have tiller steering.

No problem. Please, let me know your options.

Er your budget is not "no problem" - the Rustler was too expensive! That means either you aren't rich enough OR the asking price is too much.

One option is to make an offer 25% less than asking price. Apparently, lots of house dealers do exactly this - i met a guy who buys and sells houses at between 55 and 75% of asking price.

My other idea is to buy a Rustle 36, which is identical to a Rustler 36 but with the nameplate a bit busted.

Also bear in mind that if you buy the other boat you'll always be looking at R36's and bah, darn it, grrr, your life will be awful and then some dreadful person will buy the R36 and that'll be even worse etc etc etc.
