The new boat buyer?
Just watched with great interest, over the last month, the amount of work and effort ( therefore cost ) that is still going on the set up the Barcelona boat show for early Nov.
The new moorings, pontoons - with services the tented enampent apart from all the work which must be also going on in the indoor exhibition centre as well.
Of all the learned company owners on this site, what % of the new price actually has to go to pay for these shows?
All be it there is a ticket system to get in, but most people you seem to meet have obtained "freebees" from somewhere.

Either way the punter pays, whether its in the price of the entrance ticket or the profit margin on the boats and equipment.
My guess is that, for a retail show like Barcelona, LIBS, SIBS etc, the exhibition organiser banks on getting a certain number of paying punters through the door and therefore, in a sense, this subsidises the exhibitors' costs but, for a trade show, there are very few paying visitors so all the costs will have to be covered by exhibitors
