I am travelling from the Isle of Mull on 11th September to the Boat Show in Southampton and am finding it impossible to find somewhere to stay the night of the 11th as everywhere I can find online is fully booked.
Is there anyone out there who knows of bed and breakfast accommodation for a couple, available for the night of the 11th September within reasonably easy reach of Southampton airport?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Charlie

I have stayed in the star inn and the anchor inn on the isle of wight before now, and got the red funnel hydro over for the show. It is about 15/20 minutes boat ride and as reasonable as anywhere else you might want to try there . . .

Flying/ Driving? If you go up to the Hampshire/Berkshire border there's no end of very nice quality pub accomodation, all unaffected by the boat show. An hours drive from Southampton.

Thanks for your suggestion. Seems there is some sort of event on in Isle of Wight that weekend and hotels are fairly heavily booked.

A couple of thoughts; fly into Bournemouth instead of Southampton - it is less than an hours drive away and there are lots of cheap hotels etc. Try searching for B & Bs in the new Forest or Romsey. Both within easy reach of Southampton. Good Luck.

Had the same problem last year - Southampton impossible. Did a search on Google for bed and breakfast accommodation and found a place in lovely place in Winchester. Can't remember the name off hand but Google turned up a number of available options in the surrounding area. Sorry I can't help more.

There is a pub called The Grapes in Oxford Street which is 5 mins walk from the show. They have just installed 5 or 6 rooms above the pub and are £50 per night, and not many people know that (wink)
