Boat share Altea SPAIN

I have also contacted them - as I am not ready to do it until I retire - but its something in 2-3 years if someone wants out I might well want in - is this the Doral?

Well spotted, one of my partners is selling his share!

It's good to know that people have been able to find the ad and thought it looked good.

A deposit has been taken for the share. Hope to complete at the end of this month.

I think this is our ninth year with the boat and still enjoy it.
That’s good. Do you and the other legacy partner vet your new prospective co-owner with your leaving partner?

With such a small syndicate it is presumably essential that you are likeminded.

Yes, we vet everyone who buys into it and so far we've been really lucky and have had some great co-owners.

Just out of interest - (and it is that, I'll be looking in about 2-3 years or so) what is the monthly cost of yours petem ? I can see the ingoing cost is £36k but what's the annual on top of that work out like?

How do you allow for the (slight) depreciation of the boat - I am guessing at £36k you're valuing the boat at roughly £100-110k which does seem in line with the asking prices, but if someone wants to exit, how is the "price" worked out?

A pm might be more appropriate .

The boat costs about £15k p.a. to run which is made up of £8k marina fees, £1k insurance and £6k for antifouling, servicing, boat washes, repairs, etc. In a good year that might include some refurbishments, otherwise they're an additional cost. All costs are split three ways.

In addition, we have a lady who washes the bedding and prepares the boat for the next person to use it. She charges £40 or so.

Each partner leaves the boat full of fuel and I probably spend £500 or so a year on diesel over 5 weeks of use.

Each partner sells his share on the open market for whatever he can get for it. Some partners have sold for more then they paid, others have made a slight loss. Overall, the boat is worth more than we paid for it 9 years ago.
