The increasing trend in boat design away from “normal” styling has made Med mooring and fendering a bit more tricky for us. We have a traditional shape S/S and our neighbours have generally had similar style sports cruisers or flybridge boats so fendering and mooring was straightforward.
But, over the last couple of years we’ve also had some really differently styled boats alongside, with swoops and curves, no fender rails etc and it’s been really hard to get fendering right when entering berths or when moored.
Some of these boats look fantastic but they’re a bit short on basis practicalities.
