Bugger paying a day rate. Just a percentage of the purchase price (and do the final negotiating yourself as your gofer may do a deal to boost the asking price to both their advantages). Then offer him a bonus if he can get a bit more off after he has made his punt to you. That way you'll not get endless bills for spurious days on the net and he'll have the incentive to get the price down from the figure he rigged previously.

Me, cynical? No, surely not. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

TCM, pay me and I'll do it for you. Let me know what you are after and I'll find you a suitable vessel.

Problem solved - I was here first!!

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the title of the post... should have known I wouldn't be the first...

So, a 42 footer as a sideline.........

Is this to be an AWB or a MAB, or perhaps, ahem, something for a chentleman? I have in mind one of these; here

Pinnnacle, you have to align with the prospective owner's requirements.

Oyster 46 nasty, no aircon, no sprung mattresses, no electric loos, no genset, no watermaker, no microwave, no dishwasher, shabby woodwork.

No wonder Oyster won't have him on their boats at the shows. Ten minutes of TCM and other buyers are putting the caps back on their fountain pens.

um, very nice. Bit steep tho innit? Does it come with a spare mast, arf?

But as compulsive boat cleaner (i actually did some cleaning on claymore's *neighbouring* boat) i can't have a new boat else i will do myself in trying to keep it new. It will have to a be a touch oldish so if i do clean it at all it will be better, i think.

Yes but what sort of boat do you want? Have you drawn up a list of criteria, esential desirable or nice to have's. Let the mad crowd on here help with the local searches, obtain details photos etc and then go and see them. Having still been disappointed come back to me and I;ll sell you a real boat.
