Boat Sales near Exmouth

Am going to attend the passing out of my mates son, he has just done the Royal Marine course and is now a fully fledged marine, any way after we have done they are going home but I thought a chance to go mootching for a new s/hand boat, are there any decent yards around there?

Retreat Boatyard at Topsham is sometimes very good. Depends what you want to look at really. Usually a decent range of mid price boats and very nice owners. I often stop when I'm passing.

Don't forget Trout's yard on topsham quay.

Trout's webcam is a little scary to watch with the recent weather, and gives me sleepless nights.

Should you find your way to the very top of the creek, right next to the motorway bridge, be quite careful. The predators thereabouts can sniff out a live wallet on a dark and foogy night at over 400 metres. And, there may well be a medium Moody there at an enticing price, except - it could very possibly be *not* VAT paid.....

Others have commented on local yards. We bought our current boat from the brokerage at Retreat Boatyard.

Agree with all the aforementioned comments - retreat is a nice little boatyard & usually has a couple of nice boats for sale including some Moodys, as for any other in the immediate area there are a few but very small - there maybe a couple of boats for sale on the Topsham hard, (end of Topshan high street) good place to have some lunch anyway.

Just be careful if you do fancy something, a word to the wise, get a full history if you can & check it.

& very well done to the lad who is passing out its a hard course.
