Hi There

I own a Jeanneau MF 855 and keep her in Windsor - Im looking for a BSS inspector that is fair and reasonable - being a relatively new boat Im expecting it should pass.

Is there a checklist of the things they check so I can do my own first assessment?

thanks

C

If the boat already has a BSS certificate and no changes have been made it should be an easy pass.
The old certificate should be made available to the surveyor
Check the fire extinguishers are sufficient in number for the boat and not date expired and any gauges showing in the green sector. Be sure to have a fire blanket handy.
A clean engine bay showing no signs of fuel or oil leaks is a sound plan.
Gas appliances must be in working order and gas available to allow a test. The orange gas hose must show no signs of perishing - bend it over and if any slight splitting shows fit a new hose .
Remove any portable petrol generator or outboard engine from the boat.
