boat question in(volvi)ng of course a Princess

Going to look at a couple of boats next week,a P38 and a couple of P41/2/4 types. Not much in it price or engine option wise.ie all with Mermaid or Volvo 200+ sort of power plants. Not fussy about fly bridge.Mainly want double bed option.
Not very easily persuaded by big is best either. So what do the panel think.
Ps.Anything else to consider,Fairline 40 bit out of price range,no Brooms please.Still have my teeth and hair.

Re: boat question in(volvi)ng of course a Princess

I know this may seem a wee bit biased but I'm now on my fifth motor cruiser and have been through the petrol/diesel-flybridge/nonflybridge bit. I now own a Sealine 365 'sportsbridge' and find that the accommodation/cockpit layout and overall boat performance take a lot of beating - unless you want a Broom of similar size?(I'm waiting until I lose a few more teeth). It should also fall within your price range.
May be worth considering.
Good luck.

Treading on a toe or two here but.....................Ahem how can I put this.
In the past Sealine have appeared to put form before function.
Fine in a pair of high heels or a nice little black dress, but no place for it on the water./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

This is my second (consecutive) Sealine and been up and down the East Coast, South Coast and across to France several times and had no problem with seakeeping. - The MBM crew seem more than happy with their 37, and I would happily buy another - but the layout etc of the 365 has not (IMHO) been improved sufficiently to justify the extra thousands.

Cannot agree with the sealine comment!
Had a Sealine 45ft for 4 years now and having 'sailed' her from UK to Portugal, sometimes in heavy seas, would not swap her for anything else. We have been known to take her out here in seas that have seen sailing races cancelled and she has never let us down.
And I do not even own a little black dress or drink G&T.

Trazie Oldgit may still have his teeth & hair, but sadly lacks in the common sense dept. Nowt wrong with my F36, works hard every day, and no complaints from my pupils.
Oldgits just a bit blinkered bless him, like Haydn the thinks life begins and ends with Princess YAWN. I keep an open mind, I think all the major makers have some good boats in their range.

I might even have to put S**L*** back on my shopping list. Trouble is. All the newer FairPrinsea's all look like something out of a jelly mould factory, especialy the Jap eyed windows and the stupid slopeing transoms and rounded swim patforms that require a contestant from Come Dancing to get on or off. Then theres all the sit and beg settees and no place where two can lay down to watch TV.

Two lying down to watch TV. So what sort of TV are you watching, from a horizontal position, then? Did Mangusta finally deliver, then???

Ahhhh! to be sure, and you're missing out there! Imagine depriving yourself of a fine beverage like a good gin and tonic. I've often thought Gordons were wasting their money with these high art TV advertisements; It would be far cheaper just to take a leaf out of ronseal's book. I can see the billboards now.....

'Gordon's & Tonic; it gets you pissed.' /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: A day in the sealine design office.

9am.Buy aerosol of instant foam insulation stuff.
9.01 Close eyes and spray in random but very artistic fashion on workshop floor.
9.02.Wait for resulting blob to go off.
9.03.Cover in gleaming white glass fibre.
9.04.Stick on a few decals indicating that boat is 5ft longer that actually is.
9.05.Load on trailer to boat show.
Take rest of day off./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Went to look at P37.To squished.

Although 4ft longer and bit wider, the squeezing in of the extra berth has taken up more than its share of room on this boat.So thats off the list.
On to the P38 and the 41 methinks.

Re: A day in the sealine design office.

A little unfair.

The 365 is without doubt one of the largest boats for 40 ft. the 13ft 6in beam gives it a huge interior and the 7 berths cannot be matched by any 40ft boat even today.

the 365 does not have the same hull as the 37.

If you haven't looked over one then I'm afraid your comments are worthless.

Have a look and then comment.

An Apology to all Sealine Owners.

I wish to unreservedly apologise to all the owners of these superlative vessels. They are fine well found craft using only the best materials and labour.Well done for ignoring mere fashion and going for a ageless look that will never date.

Re: A day in the sealine design office.

Please can somebody explain what is wrong with Sealine Boats, I own an F44 and am extremely happy with it, I did not consider any other boat when I looked at trading up from my Bayliner, which was my second boat. Both have given me great enjoyment and got me on the water.

P.S. I would not deal with some of the Sealine dealers (No Names) because of there attitude and lack of interest, but I love the boats
