view on advertised prices for used motor boats? - from my viewpoint they don't appeared to have been reduced much over the last 12 months but surely they must be selling for less. I appreciate that it obviously depends on each individuals circumstances / view of the economic future but is there an average % built into an asking price to allow a knockdown. Some people have suggested that asking prices are around 30% too expensive - so is somebody who is asking 60k for their boat going to accept 42k?

A Boat is a Boat. It is worth what someone will pay for it...but only if the seller agrees. There are still a few boats to be had at a decent knockdown price where owners have to sell. In the current Market even Brokers should be willing to pass on silly offers...so have a go if you have the cash!

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Just bought a 2004 Bayliner 185 with 135 mercruiser all in good order. Asking £7K. I put a bid in of £3.5K and bought it! Not sure what to do with it now? Its a fun little boat if someone wants to give me a quick profit? (AL?) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Otherwise I`ll have to dig me skis out of the shed again and hope me sciatica can cope with it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Heres a pic anyway.
