Will boat prices follow in the footsteps of motor cars, and become more affordable?
Really nice sporty cars available at almost value for money prices but boats remaining major expence Items.
ie nice posh boat = 10 Audi TT (Now)
" " " = 5 Healey 3000 (Then)

Just hold tight dear it will not be so rough when we get round the corner, trust me.

Only if mass produced which means building Marinas every few cables around the coast /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
In the 1970s Shetland Boats were building circa 400 boats a month. This was when the firm were under the control of Jack Stokes and John Hardy (latterly of Hardy Boats).
They pursued a very aggressive advertising policy in those days and even gave away boats/trailers/outboards through competitions. They ran one competition in partnership with The Sun giving away a Shetland 535 + Falcon Trailer + Mercury 10 hp. It resulted in over 70,000 enquiries.
How do I know all this? My company was their advertising agency and they gave us a huge budget and a free hand. The market in Germany alone was amazing with one dealer buying 200 boats a year.
