One of my favourites among the most insane speedboat builders of the planet recently posted this video.
I particularly enjoyed the steering at speed at 0:54.
Not exactly the same as being onboard for a ride, but while stuck at home in November, it's better than nothing, I reckon...

Sheesh! Thanks! 0.54 was quite something. I thought at 1.08 the rooster might bring the drone down but the pilot ascended in time

Funny that you should mention it, my thought was that it just got lifted by the air shifted by the speed bullet!

Reminds of the driving the two Nortech' s I had to maintain in my last job, my personal record was only 120mph. they were akin to owning jet fighters, 3 hrs maintenance for every hour of use, they ate seawater pump impellors and gearboxes, and props were $7,000 each and used to throw blades regularly. Then there was the petrol bill @ 300 lph, but they were fun!

Very very nice machines indeed.

In a similar vein, and I hope you don't mind me posting it on your thread, MYAG's post from FLIBS got me googling for these:

They do make quite a howl at the modest in this context, 70 mph. Have a look from 0:30 onwards.

Google just drops in ads they are paid to and think are relevant to you. You may not know it yet but you need a new Kia :).

Maybe you have visited their site or googled for something else related to cars?

LOL, not only that, but the big brother also knows that PCUK is based in or near Barnstaple. Or that he must move there! :D

For the records, the blocks in Seven Marine O/Bs are GM/Cadillac V8 supercharged, 6+ liters IIRC.

Oh, and of course I don't mind if you or anyone else post anything, as long as nicely matching the thread title!
Apropos, spannerman, two Nortechs, and no pics/video?!?

Do you mean that you have some, and just need some help to post them?
For the pleasure of seeing some Northech stuff, I could as well prepare some detailed instructions... :)

You should get yourself down to the Tickfaw 200 then. You would certainly enjoy

I am particularly impressed by the MTI ZR48 ZR1 Corvette and MTI 52 Black Diamond (below)

If you can help that would be great and I will try to upload the clips I have.

I've heard of the quite strict maintenance schedule with these boats, but that's just amazing. Can you give us a rough description of what is done every couple/ten/fifty or so hours, please?

Seeing the video of the Poker Run reminded me of the Poker Run they do where my son works in the BVI. Each boat collects a card from a different island and the side benefit is lots of rum is drunk by everyone at the different venues. One of these boats called in to Cooper Island (not connected with the race) when we were staying there. After he left, at a respectable speed, you could still hear it well up the Sir Francis Drake channel on it's way back to St. Thomas. These boats are a bit noisy for my taste.
