Spent the fri/sat at the boat finishing the last remaining bits of polishing, cleaning the outside cushions, cleaning up the interior and just generally making the boat ready for the looming re-launch which might be two weeks early this year.
As I mentioned in Nick_H's thread, I also used 3M products and was again happy with the results.
Interior took some time too, but got there in the end. It won't look as clean again this year...
Had a bit of a moment as well. I decided to take a break and take some more pictures in and around the shed. I had the camera round my neck and under the arm and started backing down the swim platform steps, when my foot slipped on the then wet bathing platform and the camera slid to the front. In an effort to keep the camera from landing into the bucket you see on the pic below, I reacted by straightening myself. This resulted in me loosing balance and starting to fall backwards. As I realized that there wasn't going back, I turned and reached for the guardrail of the boat behind mine (lower right corner in the pic). Somehow I landed on my feet but the camera didn't take at all well the 2 meter plus plunge into the concrete...
After picking up the pieces I could find and looking at the nasty crack on the body I thought, 'better you than me'. A swollen finger and a bruise on the back was peanuts. A very effective and fortunate reminder to be more careful in the future. I might invest on a proper ladder in the autumn
.
So, no further pics at this time I'm afraid, it's time to approach the insurance co and start looking for a replacement as I think that the body and the 24-70 lens have had it.
