But I'm sure the moderator had a good reason for pulling it. Perhaps the post was provocative? or detailed an illegal act? Threatened violence?
Having read some of his posts, I still think that he is a troll. Started an insulting thread on the Mobo forum, then sat back to enjoy the reaction.
Probably he is having a good laugh now watching how this stolen battery thread has mushroomed.
I am finished with it, too much time wasted reading this stuff.
I'm off to read the many informative posts on this forum.

No, I read it; probably 20 so so many minutes later Richard pulled the thread. No doubt there are others who can confirm - in terms of violence Sandy said he had been threatened and that police had visited him the previous evening.

What you say is mainly correct, Sandyman did post to say that he'd had a call from the boatowner asking if it was him who was plastering pics of his boat all over the internet. As far as I recall no mention of threats in that post (but there was in an earlier post) but reading between the lines I guess there was otherwise why would he have phoned the police?
In a much earlier post Sandyman threatened to dish out his own form of summary justice, so maybe the other chap took exception to that? Maybe we'll never find out.
Apart from your reply to Clyst which contained various swear words which were quickly deleted by a moderator (and no it wasn't me who reported it) I really don't understand why the whole thread was deleted.
It will be interesting to hear in due course as to whether Sandyman gets his battery back.

It would indeed be interesting; I was all for fighting Sandyman's corner, having been a victim of boat kit stolen myself, but the thread on the mobo site was so provocative and un-called for I'm now thinking 'Troll !'

Now then, where did I get to.......................let me see, firstly here's a nice picture
of someone's boat :D

As you can see she is high & dry up on the beach. If the owner is reading this then be aware you have a few problems coming up. Firstly, PSC need the mooring next week for the winter berth of there pontoon. Secondly, it looks like you will have to wait for the next Spring tide (if u understand what that is) to get her afloat as she is to far up the beach.

Thirdly, which I forgot to mention....................you will need a battery to get her started. :D

PS. I know someone who might lend you one ;) ;)

However I do think your post on mobo was wrong and designed to cause an argument. Particularly harsh when you were criticising some of the folks who tried to help with your battery. You lost a lot of credibility by posting what you did.

there seem to be multiple identity confusions on this increasingly bizzarre thread !

Please accept my apologies for any unintended slurs, that was never my intention, actually I was trying to come to the defence of modern mobo's ( though I must say I find the term 'Raggies' insulting, as I expect power boat owners dislike 'Stinkpots'; ) it's the 21st century, life is short and we're all out to have fun, so please let's all get on !

99,000 posts later, the only crime that has any possible evidence is that of a boater and forum member confessing (in a circumlocutory fashion) to cutting a boat lose from it's mooring. (Yes, I can see it's mooring rope still attached too.)

At which point, some other forum members, (who may have boats, possibly moored) cheer.

The argument that "I break laws to uphold them" is false outside the playground and American foreign policy.

Does my mild disagreement upset the some of posters sufficient to set my boat adrift? And will others without any proof as to the troll status of this stuff, cheer?

Aren't we (as a forum) crazy to support any criminal damage to/ interference with boats by angry(?) anonymous individuals?
