Hi all,

I,ve not posted anything for a while – not since my failed attempt to buy a Sealine S37 from the med, as many of you will recall. I became that focused on an S37and increasingly frustrated for the lack choice within my budget. So I widened my search to other models.

On the 10th of December I became a proud owner of a Fairline Targa 37. She’s in great condition and hasn’t missed a beat so far. She is moored is Sparkes Marina on Hayling Island. The Family and I have been on the boat every weekend getting to know her.

We spent 4 days of the holiday period training for the Day Skipper course, with a couple more days still to complete. What a fantastic time, the whole family loves it. I find myself having withdrawal symptoms at the moment and cannot wait until the weekend.

When I first logged on to the Forum last August, I knew absolutely nothing about boating. The Forum has been an invaluable resource, and because of this I believe I have made not only the right choice of boat, but also the right choice of hobby.

Thanks to all who have helped me so far, I look forward to trying to put something back into the forum when I can.

Rob

Congrats on the purchase, whats she called? Ill look out for her when Im next down that way...... the midweek depression from not being boating will only get slowly worse from here in!!!!! The magnetic attraction to swindleries will also become much greater!

Congratulations on getting the boat. It's great that the family are involved and enjoy it as much as you. Have a fantastic time.

Re: Good news

pleased that you having a good time - t37 is a good boat. Note that of course input into the forum is not really dependent upon knowing very much at all, so kindly stick your oar in a bit more often with ribald responses, weird questions and plenty of bad photgraphs.

Brian,

Boat's name is Pipedream - first owner's choice, not mine, but it is starting to grow on me. I find myself looking at charts an Alnanacs in the evening.

Wey hey, congratulations. Good choice of boat. I trust you and Pipedream will live happily ever after. Keep posting about the good and bad experiences, especially the bad ones. We love those

Congrats on new boat. T37 is excellent choice. Name Pipedream rings a bell, can't think why? It will come to me in a bit.

Congratulations. If it's anything like our intro to boating, you are probably finding that every weekend is like a holiday, that lets you completely forget work and invigourates you for the week ahead.

Congratulations - envy, envy........

I personally think the Fairline is a better boat than the Sealine (though frankly, I would kill to own either) but you will hear every shade of opinion on here. Ignore it all; you have chosen wisely, Grasshopper.

I will keep an eye open for you in the Solent when we're back on the water.

Congratulations, but DON'T forget safety equipment, very important. You have a plenty of space for all the proper equipment that is required, I have a spread sheet available if you need to get an idea of what I carry, you could always add to it for the size of your vessel /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Safe boating.

Rob,

Good choice. We are just around the corner in Gosport with a Targa 39 (kad 42's). We are much slower than you with smaller engines! We've been down to La Rochelle and back in our Targa last summer - and can confirm that you've bought a great boat! See you on the water soon - we are "Crazy Diamond"

Glad to see you made the right choice. I remember Pipedream from when I had my boat at Port Solent.

Good luck, Pete

Congratulations on the new boat. I'm also moored at Sparkes and am sure I have seen you the last couple of weekends. I have a Sealine F37 new to me 5 months ago. Will say hello when I next see you. Probably this weekend?
