Boat owner again

Did 4 hours at 8.5knts

6 hours at 18-20knts

Excellent stuff Jez .... glad she performed well for you and safe onward journey!

Would be interesting to hear at what RPM you achieved these speeds.... a small tweak one way or another, may make all the difference .... but suspect you will need a few more hours running at single speed (and measure) before you can determine with reasonable accuracy.... or take a proper testing day out there with cans of fuel to draw from....

Just a thought but wouldn't Jez's purchase and delivery trip make a good MBY story?

8.5 knots was 1000rpm on both
The planing cruise at 1800 rpm gave 18-20knts is a rolling sea.

I think I'm addicted to these engines - they just sing when you get it right, and sound like a race boat when you start it up.

Just out of curiosity, how much is max Rpm? Did you try to get that during sea trial? Speed?
How much is consumption at 18-20kn ?

Sweet-spot may actually be 1850 RPM ..... :D ... and from then on, you may gain just in excess of 1 knot per 100 RPM up to WOT at 2300, but with fuel economy to match....

Bart, WOT should be 2300 and a rough guess as sofa observer :) (pending on propeller load for Seralia) is around £130 - 140 L/Hr for both engines at 1800 RPM..... assuming clean hull etc., etc.... Actual fuel consumption may have been a bit higher due to sea state, hull condition etc.
