Hi there

I’m looking to have a change of direction in my boating tastes and would like to poll the forum for alternates to my current choice.

My requirement is for a 4 berth and 2 cabin and twin diesel. Speed wise I’d like a cruising speed of 24-28 knots. From my initial investigation there seems to be a few Sunseeker Martinique 36’s on the market that are just within my price range ( 70k ish ). I have had a few people comment that Formula are a good make and have seen a 36 advertised.

Any views on the above or suggestions for alternates gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

There\'s only one choice..

For that size/speed/cost you wont beat a Fairline Targa 33. There are lots of them to choose from, it will hold it's value and it has excellent sea keeping.

Re: Depends

on whether you want a flybridge or sportsboat.

Princess 330 or 35, Corniche if former Martinque good if latter. Would suggest you walk over one to see if it has enough room below for you, if more than enough you could go down to a 33-34 San Remo. All of the above good in their own way. IMHO

And probably wont have Osmosis unlike most Sunseekers of a similar age....

it varies, sometimes minute to minute

The 36PC Formula is a great boat with sea keeping second to none with its 24 degree deadrise, built to be bomb proof and should last forever out on the open sea nothing can get near their ride and solid feel. BUT second hand they are much harder to sell than the better known british makes, people do seem to like the comfort of knowing that their is a good secondhand market and that they are not alone in their choice of make -ultimatly you wont find a better boat than a Formula but its like I say there is a downside when trying to resell.

Is this Formula the one that has new 300hp diesels fitted- it has been on the market a fair while for about £70,000 or so?

concerning the UK makes not my sort of thing too obvious but cant knock the excellent secondhand values and bouyant market for them.

First off thanks to all who have shown interest in my post.

I've added the Targa 33 to my list.

Kevin - Yes its up for 62k now. If its still around when I have my money I may look at it as I know, in passing, of two people with formula boats and they swear by them.
