its not quite funny some guy has had is holiday ruined and some one has lost his boat not good for anyone and there are not many who have not come close to rocks at some point in their boating life ,unless they never leave the marina

We were anchored in the bay when the boat entered the anchorage at full pelt - there were swimmers in the water and pedalos etc. I and the boat next to me sounded our horns in an attempt to slow them down as there could easily have been fatalities. They ignored us and hit the rocks! German skipper, 2 half naked girls on front and obviously showing off by attempting a loop of the island!

Swimmers recovered the shaft and prop from the shallow water, we went over to the boat which at that time was starting to list and the skipper, clearly very drunk was sitting in the cockpit drinking wine seemingly oblivious. He would not accept help nor let us take passengers off - at this point he was only in very shallow water as tangled in the swim buoys. Emergency services were unable to help as they couldn't approach as the water was too shallow.

The boat was eventually floated with air bags and removed yesterday. Hopefully the skipper has the book thrown at him as the boat was clearly quite new and cared for by its owner.....

Think the T43 ceased production in 2004/05 - so at best 12 years old.

Morons like that are too common ,see quite a few examples of idiocy but its usually reserved for the high season of july/august,perhaps were in for a bumper year given its only april.

It's good job he had his fenders dangling over the side and not neatly stowed below (or wherever) - keeping the wreck afloat.
