Boat names & Paperwork

Prompted by the thread regarding Boat Names :

Given that the process of renaming a SSR registered boat is fairly simple what does one then do about all the Bills Of Sale etc that have the old boat name on it ? Doesn't this cause problems with the Froggie Douane ?

Best bet is probably to have something (original invoice?) with the boat's Hull ID Number on it. Can't remember if this is on the SSR Cert as well, but it will certainly be stamped on the hull!

Just checked all our paperwork as the boat was renamed by its previous owners, because the owners before them wanted to keep the name.

We have all the Bill of Sale documentation since she was new, showing her old name. The numbers and other details are consistent throughout. The first change of ownership after the name change shows her new name, formerly oldname.

No worries - although I haven't been visited by the douanes yet to prove it.
