Any recommendations for a boat name transfer supplier (Solent area)? Any major pitfalls to be aware of when applying them (apart from making sure it's straight /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

We can supply and post them to you, we can even help with design if you fancy something a bit unique. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As for pit falls, make sure the service is both smooth and very very clean, especially grease free. Getting them straight is fairly easy, but finding 'straight' on a boat can be more tricky. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Try K Signs (assume web details are correct) on 02380407847

Deacons Boatyard Bridge Road Bursledon, SOUTHAMPTON, Hampshire, SO31 8AX

Very happy with the results from them (albeit simple fonts) about 3 years ago.

I used Streetglo (www.streetglo.net/boat-lettering.html) as they have a pretty good online design function, are well priced and deliver quickly. I also added a reflective blue stripe to the hull using their tape. Both were relatively easy to apply, you put slightly soapy water on the surface and it gives time to center the decal.

UV resistant decals help. Most signwriters will do the job at very reasonable costs, and will use UV resistant materials if you tell them what the application is for
