Does anyone know of a UK based stockist of this polysulphide sealant. Google only throws up USA/Canadian stockists.
I have a little left and want another small tube. Unlike Stiflex it doesn't go off in the tube, making it very useful for those small jobs which crop up from time to time.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Jim !

I had the same problem. My chandlery tells me that the UK distributor is no long dealing with 'Boatlife' products. So far, no one is importing these products from America.

Shame. I really like Lifecaulk and Lifeseal.

+1 for Arbokol 1000.

I've used this for all my sealing and bedding jobs below the waterline. My 380ml cartridge must be 6 or 7 years old and it's still OK to use - in fact I used it this morning.

That's Lifeseal, which is their silicone/PU stuff. Lifecalk is polysulfide, stinky and excellent. The yard at Port Bannatyne lent me a mastic gun with something which smelled just right last week, so I'm sure a polysulfide equivalent is available.

Incidentally, I recently discovered Tiger Seal polyurethane, which is remarkable stuff. I used it to bond together the carburettor and LPG venturi on my DS - it gave a flexible, gas-proof and heat resistant seal. Dunno what it would be used for on a boat, but thought I'd share!

Anyone got a supplier in the UK for this stuff?

Lifecaulk. a sticky rubber compound like product. Used for the through wood cleat seal.

Thanks

I could not find a UK supplier with stock. However, Jewsons do an excellent one part polysulphide Evo-Stick mastic, in black, white, teak and grey (http://www.jewson.co.uk/decorating/sealants-adhesives/specialist-sealants/one-part-polysulphide/). Arbocol 1000 is a similar polysulphide in the same range of colours. Alternatively, Arbomast BR is a very good non hardening butyl rubber-based sealant that retains its flexibility and copes well with the natural movement of wood. All of the above are cheaper per unit volume than Life-Caulk.
