Boat Jumble at Battlesbridge Sunday 2nd Sept

Thanks for the info. Hope there are a fair number of genuine 'jumble' stalls, rather than just a load of commercial enterprises. When I only need some rope, once I've paid the 4 quid entrance, I usually find it's cost me more than buying 'conventionally'.

A bit unworthy given that Plod go round checking things like that.

Now, I can't be there this year, but how about another round of profit fior the RNLI?

Last year we raised £374, a tidy sum

Step up, step up.

I shall put in a Dinghy Road trailer and a couple of Delta anchors for starters.

There have been a few stolen so I doubt it was "to order", please read the link the link below and keep a good eye out at the jumbles.

Colin is a real gent and has been boating all his life, he did this painting for me FOC and has spent his life helping others, the Fairline 19 was based on one of his designs although the superstructure was altered when it went into production.

The boat will be raised by his freinds on sat and we will no doubt club together to try and get him back on the water asap, as he was third party we may be looking for a cheap 20+ outboard for him so he can get out to the sea.

Thieving scum!! I feel for the guy. Do keep us posted. Hopefully we can all help him out in some little way. (Not that I have any immediate ideas)

The loose change from some folk's pockets would pay to get this chap back on the water. Would be a worthy cause.

Engine theft update

The boat is now ashore and as they could not get past the security bolts they used a winch from a tree to tear the engine off which sank the boat.
He is going to carry on boating I am glad to say and plans have already been made to get it floating again with most of what is needed to repair/re-fit already offered/donated.

The bigest item we are still looking for is an engine, a 20hp four stroke with power tilt would be ideal, we have no budget as yet and we know he is not going to be given one but if anyone knows of one for sale at a reasonable price (with serial numbers!) that would be helpfull.

He is a bit taken aback by the level of offers of help, even the local boatyard owner (Maurice Jackson of Stanground) raised it for free himself as we were struggling to find a pump.

I will keep this post updated, I know I should not advertise a company on here but the man deserves mention..
