Boat insurance requirement in Greece. Am I legal?

Hello,

May I ask for some help - I have a engine boat 'Maxum', lenght 5.30m with 200hp engine.
Is this third party liability insurance obligatory for me?

As I read the law, I would say that I need it. On the other hand I will highly appreciate your opinion.

A boat in Preveza marina has now been told, by the port police, who state they are now responsible for the marina (??), that it is necessary for insurance cover of €500,000 third party liability, €150,000 stranding liability and €150,000 pollution liability to have legal cover in Greece. My GJW policy does not currently cover these amounts as I have €300,000, €150,000 and €90,000 respectively.
Are the Preveza port police correct? Is my insurance legal in Greece?
Hoping to launch on Friday and would like to know I don't have the mither of contacting my insurance company.
By the way the PP also told our friend he didn't need his cruising log stamped as he had a stamp less than a year ago and it only it only needs stamping once a year.

Confused in Preveza.

PP are correct - those were the revised requirements since Feb 2014.
I contacted my insurers and they e-mailed the necessary cover note to me, last April. The essential peice is the Greek note.
The most recent cover note, in Greek, was sent to me with the replacement insurance in January 2015.
I'm afraid you have the mither of contacting your insurers (Have they covered you for Greek waters?)
The new TPP requires one stamp a year, but you have to have an up-to-date crew list (as you're non-Schengen), you'll also be liable the TPP Tax when they work out its collection route.
If your mate is non-EU he'll have a cruising log - if EU a DEKPA.

Yes.
When I became aware of the requirement, I spoke to my insurers who immediately sent me an amended policy with the required amounts.
Other I know had the same experience, no hassle.
