Went to the boat yesterday and now have the heating and dehumidifier on but haven't emptied the water out so far.

You lot in winter mode yet or are you hanging on a little longer:)

I just keep her warm and dry, just carry on using her.
I know some people strip of their boats for winter, take all the cushions home etc and then store them in an even colder and damp loft, never understand the logic.
Do you think draining the water is required, berthing on the south coast, hooked up to the shore power ?
Some of my best days are over the winter period.

I'm with you spotty dog, going down to the marina now for a potter and a spot of lunch...happy days :)

This is the first winter for me with this boat but I have had water damage in the past on my previous boat caused by water freezing in the taps.

Do still intend to use her over the winter though, that's one of the reason I have this sort of boat now. :)

The only tap I have ever had an issue with is the cockpit washdown shower one built into the the transom (I think the MF925 has this ?) so thats worth isolating, other than that a few tube heaters, oil filled rads and you've got a nice snug place to escape too.

Nothing different for 'Lisilou' either. Will use her the same as in the summer beit around and about or floating caravan. Tube heaters, dehumidifier and thermo heater...snug as can be.

Just had a cracking weekend out on the boat. We don't do laying the boat up for winter. We keep it well heated and continue to use it. Some of the best boating is to be had during the winter months.

Emptied the water tank about a month ago and got the tube heater out of the depths of a locker. Set it up on a thermostat but as of yet it has not switched on! Checked the shore power meter again today and it hasn't moved since last visit. Temperature in the cabin was 18degrees today with no heater in use - no sign of Winter yet.

Having said that, I was on the boat all day yesterday doing some jobs and at lunchtime gusts of 80mph were recorded outside the marina. Put some extra lines on different cleats as a precaution.
