Boat in build pics (Squadron 78)

This might make you feel better (or not possibly), I just got my spares kit from MAN prior to my trip too:

4 Fuel pre filters
4 Engine Fuel filters
1 sea water pump impeller
1 water pump cover gasket/seal
1 V Belt

£643.89! .......... and you need 2 of these per boat

add oil filters and it jumps to £754.82

add gearbox oil filters, rocker gaskets, and air filters (x2)and it leaps to £2517.82

Happy boating. :)

:D :D We is mugs MYAG :D :D Happy boating to you too :-)

£308 each, yes ***frigging £308 EACH*** for raw water pump impellers.
I simpathyse. In one of my cats there's the whole raw water pump which probably needs replaced.
Much smaller than yours of course, but you can imagine how eyewatering its price can be!
My mechanic is trying to fix it, fingers crossed...

£308 each, yes ***frigging £308 EACH*** for raw water pump impellers. Jeeze! FFS! This is ridiculous... And I ordered two of the sodding things!

Are these the ones encrusted with the swarovski crystals or have they charged for the whole pump?

I just got a delivery of Caterpillar spare from finnings (the UK Cat agents) so I'm ready for the delivery trip in case any breakdowns. I'm very surpirsed at the pricing now that I have the itemised invoice in front of me. These are genuine Cat parts, prices inc UK VAT:

£20.58 each for quite large spin-on tin can final fuel filter for the engine. Seems nice and cheap. Bit disappointing it is painted yellow not white.

£37.51 each for alternator V belt - a bit pricey but ho hum I can live with it

Yeah, I've found Finning parts prices are sometimes surprisingly good, then sometimes ridiculous as you say......actually the impellers for the C12's are the same price as yours give or take £10...so ended up buying a pair this year in the US on eBay (!), original CAT parts, and 1/3 the normal US price (which is 1/2 the UK almost) - so paid 1/6 of the Finning price this year - so worked out at £65each...bargain of the century ::D

p.s....you'll get used to the yellow painted filters :)

Hmmm. not sure about that Chris :)

Anyway, she's nearly there. (Pic below is 11am UK time today; destination is Sagunto). Woohoo! I'm leaving for Gatwick shortly; early afternoon Easyjet to Valencia...

I find this rather amusing:D

After all the expence, hassle and worry involved in getting MATCH to Sagunto and YOU fly Easyjet;)

Good luck with the rest of the journey jfm.

For those interested in tracking "Match" on board "Kapitan Ryntsyn" you might want to have a look at this site http://www.localizatodo.com/mapa/, it adds stuff like wind speed, nautical charts and a collision test.

Most likely you guys already know this, but I assume lots of inexperienced users (as I) are also following this thread with great interest.

Unusual for you JFM to get f'''ed I get mine although smaller from ASAP supplies at half the price.:) Too late now but worth knowing. Finnings on their own parts are good value but once they buy in and rebox the price doubles. Best wishes for the seaso ahead.

OOh even Im getting excited and Im not blxxdy going!

This thread really has made us all feel very involved in the whole process.
Good luck to you fella.

Think you'll find he's charted the whole Easyjet flight to take his mates and a hold full of spares with him.

Good luck JFM, been a pleasure reading the build and commissioning story. Hope the reality is as good.

Actually Sleezyjet and RyanAir are good to use, if you accept their limitations, as they are very punctual. Their departure and arrival records are far better than the scheduled airlines, as they cannot afford to keep the planes on the ground. I prefer to use them for shorthall.
