Boat in build pics (Squadron 78)

What a sight!!
Bet there will be a few people cursing you over the next 2 days on the route!! :D

Mighty mighty impressive..... and the boat ain't bad either!!! :D :D :D :D

Only joking, the pics are great thanks, and can i just say on behalf of this forum, many thanks to the people at Oundle for the pics they took, and giving us a great insight to their production line and excellent building process.

Keep the pics jfm. Can't wait to see it at LIBS.

Cheers

Al.

jfm, what does Match weigh?

50tonnes light (+7 or 8t of fuel/water but of course tanks are currently empty). Well within the capacity of that trailer afaik. I think it extends for bigger boats; it was the one used to move the predator 108 at last year's LIBS, which you can see on that youtube vid of the preps for last year's show

Fairline used to have a big sign on the truck saying something like "Fairline - made in britain with pride; exported all over the world" but the next day loads of irate motorists would phone the factory to complain their journey was delayed, so Fairline stopped using the sign. :-)

<<they go with police and have to dismantle street furniture as they go>>

Could ask Deleted User to send his swmbo ahead of it, would save some time on the dismantling side of things :)

Great pics, wonderful thread. Shame the weather is not better for your launch.

Looking good JFM, and looking forward to dropping by at LIBS.

Good luck for the launch at Ipswich.

Might need to break through the ice, -9C tonight at our marina. Horrible!!

Jeeez! That's some journey on a mother of a truck! Looks massive on there, wish I knew before cos I would have made the trip to see it for myself on the road. Do they move all their boats like this, have they ever thought of moving the yard to a coast location?

Any idea when your slot is for Excel? Will you be aboard as she comes in?

wow, 50 tonnes light.... so after a year of use and squirreling, and full tanks... that would be 60 tonnes...impressive. Are you sure you needed stabilizers ?
