Boat in build pics (Squadron 78)

Scubaman, this forum's maker of atmospheric photos with clever depth of field trickery
Agreed, some very nice shots there, with lovely framing indeed.
Scubaman, re. DoF, just a matter of using a large aperture, or any other trick?

Thanks jfm for your kind words.

No other trick than wide aperture, f2.8 in this case. At wide apertures, the lens (Canon 24-70mm, f2,8) causes some vignetting which adds to the atmospheric mood. On some pics I also added some vignetting in Lightroom.

I wish I'd had my tripod with me (and the flashes & bit more time) as using wide aperture was now the only option.

Squadron 78 at the Boat Show

I was privelaged on thursday to go on board. What a fantastic boat. Quite simply it blew all the others at the show away. My wife commented that she would sell the house,me and the kids and move staight in! :(

My thanks to the owner and Fairline for making our day!

Good to see you again yesterday jfm, fab boat, don't know where you get the time to organise all the extra work specified. That flybridge dash is simply stunning. Certainly worth the wait and being boatless for a season. Enjoy your maiden voyage next week, probably be a little cooler than you're used to!

JFM,
Visited yesterday and not a lot to say that hasn't already been said. Except maybe - 'Game, set and MATCH' to you and Fairline.
Sorry did not get to meet you, you looked rather busy. Fairlines attitude was as refreshing as their complimentry drinks!

Yes I have to say I was lucky enough to meet JFM and have a look round the ship. Its all been said before its just so right. Well done jfm. Hmm and onto Fairline, well yes a better attitude to last time. We also got a free coffee after the viewing so cant all be bad.

well ive just got home and still my mouth hasnt quite closed from your boat!!
simply stunning!!
i also found the lady on the front desk of fairline to be welcoming and helpful dispite my best efforts to look like a chav! :D

makes mee and my boat feel very very small! :)

wheres the madien voyage to?

very nice to meet you to JFM or John as i now know you:)

JFM, a personal plea for you to keep this thread going, with detail on the final finishing and rectification up at Ipswich, trip down to the med, and how you get on with your new toy please?

JFM just wanted to say thanks for making your boat so accessable been a avid follower of this thread, had a great look around yesterday had to stop swmbo from running a bath she loved it.

Fairline staff were so helpfull in contrast to previous years, Princess was the complete opposite, I know where my money would go in future now.

Simply stunning!!

Fabulous boat, great tour by Martyn of Fairline and very glad that I caught you at the end of the show.

Many thanks again for share it all with us.

Stuart thanks. Glad you had a nice tour. Blimey he must have been quite large; probably a good thing he didn't get into the e/room else would have busted stuff!

Thanks for the thoughts on the sofa. Aircraft idea sounds good, but alas I'm past point of no return becuase I've already ordered from Wattsons replacement arm boxes, before xmas, and paid for them. They're almost finished. I want to use the arms for storage of covers so am keeping the box concept ie lift up lid, but having the front corner chopped off 45deg so as to create a gap for your thighs to fit twixt arm and table. Before/after pics are below

What would curved ends look like on photoshop?

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting JFM and having a really good look around Match yesterday. What can you say, we as a forum have run out of superlatives for this boat.

I'd like to echo the sentiments above, that it would be great if the thread could continue to show more pics up and until she reaches her home berth in the SoF.

From looking around, I have one tiny, miniscule query for JFM, hardly worth mentioning, but why are the drinks holders set into the fly helm station not set on the vertical? Surely it will mean spilled drinks when underway.
