Boat in build pics (2013 Fairline Squadron 78)

The solution is obvious.....drive her down to the Med yourself. If you start now you would be there at the same time
I love your train of thoughts, 'cept the last bit.
While at that, why rush? La Rochelle, Bilbao, Santander, Oporto, Lisbon - just to name a few places - are all well worth a visit, too.
And reaching the Med by the end of July would still leave a fair share of the summer ahead to enjoy...

Sorry to hear this, how blimmin frustrating for you. Does this still get you back to PV in time for the Fete de la Musique on 21 June?

Cheers
Jimmy
It's tight but just about possible. Unless shippers push it further, to 15th or whatever... Actually I don't know the transit time because I don't know if the ship will have port calls in Gib or Palma or both.
As a consolation prize I'm gonna organise a trip out to Lymington this weekend for a tiny bit of shakedowning :D Berthon have a nice hammerhead ready and waiting :D Might bump into a few forum folks there; kettle will generally be on :D

Forget the kettle, what's in the fridge! :D

Will you still be there Monday evening?

Will be in Ocean Village monday evening (on board, doing prep for shipping the next day).
You might be interested to know that - unless the shipping company will use another ship - loading on tuesday 11th is already ruled out by laws of physics.
The ship is still moored in Finland as of 3 mins ago, so the best case is that she'll land at S'hampton on the 12.
Is the shipping agent still sticking to his guns? That would be typical... :(

Yup MapisM, I just saw that. I emailed the shipping company 30mins ago asking for a full and frank report on what is happening (as opposed to the usual, where they just tell you what they think you want to hear). I'll let you know what they say...

Hey JFM

Just noticed that Fairline have put you and your boat into their website news:

http://www.fairline.com/en/news/fai...ost-customised-squadron-to-date-at-the-britis

It says that there are 400 custom items. Is that 394 scatter cushions and half a dozen other odds? :) Not many visible in the picture.

White furniture covers - That will show the spills.

What's that black thing in the corner behind the flowers? A/C?

Apollogracht is currently underway doing 12 Knots through the Baltic Sea. It is heading for Rostock currently.

Mike.

Yup, would have been. I have seen motala motor past the entrance to OV a few times over last few weeks but managed not to see her/you on Friday, doh. Match was en route to Lymington, to meet signwriting contractor funkymonkey and test a few bits of newly installed kit. Back in OV now, awaiting ship mebbe Thursday

Yup they're very pleased with the boat and decided to do a press release! Even got a column inch or so in Boat International. IMHO the pic was taken a week early - there is no picture in the bulkhead, those silver cushions aren't mine and are too boring, and the walnut coffee table top is missing. AND I wasn't there so they didn't know to turn the vase lighting (by Lumishore!) on. Oh well...!

White furniture - yep, chosen on aesthetics not practicality. So far so good. I don't worry because those sofas were made by Martin at MJ, and he and his team are great guys - if I have any problem I put the sofa/chairs in a van to his workshop, and 2 weeks later they will all be re-covered and new. I will prob do that every 2 years anyway. Easy peasy.

The black thing is just a twin electricity socket. One socket is a normal 230v ac electricity point, and the other is a USB that connects to a printer/scanner that is out of sight

Thanks. Rostock is an anchorage stop to take on bunkers, not a port call. The shipping co just emailed that info. So her ETA in Southampton is late Wednesday pm or early Thursday morning

The ship will take about 14 days to Genoa because of port calls in Gibraltar, Palma and Gandia. So I'll be in Antibes at the end of the month approx. All good.
