Moving mobos with a boatmover is easy, a finkeeler is a bit more tricky, but you can squeeze them into small spaces /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Taking the props away. Gulp

Impressive boat mover.

The Little Green boat "Puffin Bach " caught my eye .Any idea what design she is?

We used to have acres and acres of space (much of it a windswept swamp, it's true) but the developers have squeezed the boatyard into a well-appointed but much smaller area. They also took away part of it last year for building and parking, because that generates more money. Then Persimmon stopped construction....

Loads of space around still, but we can't use it, hence the sardine-like atmosphere! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Some boats are 4 rows in!

Point is that the cradle is wider than the gap between the neighbouring boats. The props for a bilge keeler or mobo are rarely wider than the beam, but fin keel boats need much more space for propping. Ragamuffin needed to be moved to make space for a big boat lifting out later this week, and we were seeing if we could shift it with the boatmover and put it in a narrow slot /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

A real beauty. Is she yours? I wonder how many other boats in the yard will still be in commision when 108 years old.

The owner was driving the tractor and operating the boatmover - Rich works in the boatyard! We kept saying "Don't worry about it, it's not as if it's a customer's boat", and he kept saying he'd be less nervous if it was /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

"Playmate", a couple of berths along from me, was commissioned circa 1890. The owner usually tries to get to the Classic Boats meets, and generally enters the Holms Race. But she definitely aint as pretty as Gulnare (probably something to do with the black bitumastic paint on various bits, and the blue plastic tarps /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )
