Please forgive me if this topic has been "done to death" previously but why is there no history check system that compares with the HPI for cars
Afew years ago I owned a Car Auction and all vehicles offered for sale had to be declared if on VCAR (Vehicle Condition Alert Register) or show any outstanding finance.
HPI was run by Equifax who liased with insurence companies so we could get instant accident or finance history BEFORE we paid the vendor.
I know boats don`t have number plates but it can`t be beyond the wit of man to use serial numbers.
Although I purchased my boat through a reputable Brokeridge, it was still a bit nerve wracking as nobody knew if it had been sunk twice or there was £15k outstanding. It would be a brilliant & profitable service for MBM
