Sad to see a boat burnt out tonight in Penton Hook Marina about 50metres from us.
Looked about 23' sports boat on L pontoon first finger right side. Took fire brigade about an hour to douse the flames. The remains have been towed to another location in the marina to allow inspection of the pontoon.
Got a short video b ut what upload site should I use to post it?

must be horrible to see any boat on fire!

sounds like good work from all involved, marina staff, fire service and anyone else to contain and keep the fire away from other boats.

Really sad, bet that upset someones Christmas.

Or made it, you just never know!

Why post a video from Oct 2012 !
The fire referred to in this thread took place on 4/12/14, 3 days ago.
Please explain Firefly625.

Knowing Firefly as I do, the mistake will be a very genuine one if the video is of another incident. I've not looked at it as I find no pleasure in watching another mans pride and joy go up in smoke :(

Statement from MDL:

“MDL Marinas can confirm the Fire Service attended Penton Hook Marina on Thursday evening (4 Dec), following a fire on a customer’s boat. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished.

“The swift action of our staff and the emergency services prevented any further damage. The Fire Service complimented our staff on their professionalism and expertise. We are now working with the vessel owner and relevant parties to investigate the fire further.”
