Hi All, am considering upgrading to something newer and sadley more expensive.
Can anyone recommend Marine Finance companies, any opinions and reviews would be welcome, how easy were they to deal with etc.

Regards

Hi,

I can recommend Lombard Marine Finance, whom I used last October when buying my (new to me) boat. Interest rate was very competitive, and friendly staff to deal with.

No connection, just a happy customer! :)

Another vote for Lombard here

We dealt with them for 10 years with no problems at all

Their staff were really efficient in dealing with any request that I had

Out of interest what interest rate do they currently charge. Over what period will they lend. Are there any upfront fees.

I might get that Zonda yet !!

I am sure that you are aware of this;I mention it because I was so stunned a year or two back that so many on the forum didnt realise.
The boat is only the FIRST collateral call against the mortgage, not the only call. If a forced sale of the boat on repossession doesnt cover the outstanding balance, they, quite fairly, will come after you for the remainder (IE your house etc).
Seems alot of folk thought that they could just walk away, but that dream is reserved for the USA house mortgage market !
