Hello there. Does anyone know how exporting a boat out of Norway works after the boat was bought by a UK company?
Many thanks, -t

The question about flag registration is different to physically moving the boat out of the country. If it is registered in Norway you need to find out what the requirements are, due to your purchase, from the Norwegian registry. So there is no need to "export, delist from Norwegian registry, register with new flag, etc" ?
That does indeed seem a very odd thing to do. How are you going to get it there? As suggested typical Norwegian boats are not suited for use in the Med. 9m boats are also unusual as they lack space and facilities that make sailing in Turkey enjoyable. Sailing there (as in your earlier posts) is a massive project in such a small boat. If you want a boat in Turkey there are plenty for sale there, or in Greece. I have never heard of the need to have a boat owned by a company to be able to keep it there. Pleasure boats are almost always owned by private individuals, not companies and there are many members of this forum who keep or have kept their privately owned boats in Turkey.I intend to take it to Turkey - which requires that a boat be owned by a company and not a person (a little loophole there) to remain in the country. So there is no need to "export, delist from Norwegian registry, register with new flag, etc" ?
