So was out & about the other day testing a new boat & whilst dodging through quite alot of small sailing things quite alot of them would wave to me, so question is was it rude of me not to wave back, bearing in mind I was quite busy after all @ 30 knts one needs ones wits about them,boats name is hawkster if you see me give me a wave,mm1.

Don't worry I think they were just trying to be friendly.

In fact I've heard it said that a lot of them want to meet you.
 
Yes would love to meet up with so many friendly people,we could have a jolly big raft, mm1.
 
Were probably just expressing envy at how smoothly you could go at 30kts whereas they have to wiggle all over the place and barely move.

Perhaps a polite cheery wave would have been nice, but I am sure no-one thinks any the less of you for failure to do so :)
