Boat engine doesn't start all of a sudden

You don't have to pay for it, you can stick with a non-starting engine.

You missed my point. It was about those that charge for it. Huge difference. A well known member on here has years of experience and does loads of boat work for people and never charges a penny

You live in a strange World if you really think skilled trades people should work for nothing.

I spend a lot of time on these forums, where i freely share my knowledge, as do a great many people. But when i'm working on customers boats i expect to get paid, makes it easier to pay my bills. I guess the electrician in Aus has bills to pay too.

EDIT: $250 AUS is about £130 !!

Personally I'd rather pay above average for a years tried and tested experienced engineer than a cheap novice who may well pull my pants down!! The OP got off lightly, he could have been conned into a new engine!! ??‍♂️
