We have received a last minute offer of a port a sec place at La Trinite sur Mer.

Trouble is, boat is on the hard at Folleux and would need to be out of the Vilaine before 3 November when the Arzal lock closes for the winter for major works. We cannot get out by then to do the move.

So does anyone know of any reputable delivery firms/individuals who might be prepared to do this from lift in to lift out? Sails are off but engine is ready to go. Also life raft is home for service. Maybe these would be dealbreakers but it’s a very short trip. I have never arranged a delivery before so don’t know what would be required.

I just want to understand...

what you have been offered at La trinite is a dry sail spot that extends through the sailing season - right?

how big is your boat?

Just an update to answer my own question.

Found an excellent delivery skipper from the list provided by the La Trinite Capitainerie (who themselves were superb in helping to make this change happen before the Vilaine is closed for the winter).

Excellent comms, good English, lots of experience, did exactly what he promised, when he promised, and a (surprisingly) excellent price.

If anyone else has need of a boat move in the area I thoroughly recommend and if you pm me l’ll send you his number.

November is definite no-no.

I have done the Azores run leaving in June and got hammered so the thought of going that late goes against all the statistics.

You might have missed the fact that he had the delivery completed, dine and dusted
