Boat covers - removing stains

I possibly made a mistake buying a white canvas affair to turn the aft end of my boat into a conserfvatory. Half of it has now turned green over the winter! I assume that this some kind of algae and not mildew. Has anyone got any ideas on how I can remove it and return my cover back to white. I know there are potions from the likes of Starbrite that claim something like "spray it on and wait two minutes and wash off to remove all stains. No hard work required". Yeah right! Just like the rest of the false promises from the rest of the "spray it on, do nothing and wipe it off " brigade. I am sure if I looked hard enough I could find a product advertised as "spray on to you engines, wait ten minutes and simply wipe off and your engines will be fully serviced". Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Dont know what your material is but a very weak solution of bleach will remove the green. wash down with lots of water afterwards.
TEST A SMALL AREA FIRST.

Actually it's one of the few potions that does work, though a gentle scrub with a brush is needed.

A 5 quid tarp from B&Q costs less than a bottle of Starbrite stuff..................horse, stable door and bolt!

Miltons baby bottle steriliser worked on mine, same advice, test a hidden area first.
